    Discover one of China’s greatest ancient engineering and religious wonders on this Chengdu: Leshan Grand Buddha Full-Day Group Trip. This full-day experience takes you from Chengdu to the world-famous Leshan Grand Buddha, a UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site and the largest stone-carved Buddha statue in the world. Standing majestically at the confluence of three rivers, the 71-meter-tall Buddha has watched over Sichuan for more than 1,200 years and remains one of China’s most impressive historical landmarks.

    Travel comfortably with an experienced English-speaking or Chinese-speaking guide while enjoying the scenic countryside landscapes of western Sichuan. Along the journey, admire peaceful rice fields, tea plantations, vegetable farms, and traditional rural scenery before arriving in Leshan. Once there, explore the giant Buddha either by hiking along the ancient cliffside pathway for close-up views or by taking an optional river cruise for panoramic perspectives from the water.

    1

    Chengdu to Leshan Grand Buddha

    In the morning, your guide will meet you at your hotel or hostel lobby in Chengdu and begin the journey to the famous Leshan Grand Buddha Scenic Area. The drive takes approximately 2.5 hours along the expressway through the fertile western Sichuan Plain. Along the way, enjoy views of peaceful countryside landscapes, including rice paddies, tea plantations, vegetable greenhouses, vineyards, and traditional villages, offering a glimpse into rural life in Sichuan Province.

    Around noon, arrive in Leshan and enjoy a local lunch before entering the scenic area. The Leshan Grand Buddha, carved into a red sandstone cliff during the Tang Dynasty, sits dramatically at the meeting point of the Minjiang River, Dadu River, and Qingyi River. The Buddha was originally built to calm dangerous river currents and has since become one of the most remarkable Buddhist monuments in the world.

    Inside the scenic area, you can choose between two sightseeing options. The recommended option is hiking along the mountain pathways and descending the famous narrow cliffside stairway from the Buddha’s head to its enormous feet. This route allows you to closely observe the incredible details of the ancient stone carving while learning more about its history and cultural significance. Alternatively, you may choose an optional river cruise to admire the entire Buddha statue from the water and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and rivers.

    After approximately three hours of sightseeing, return to Chengdu by vehicle. The tour concludes near Tianfu Square in central Chengdu in the late afternoon or early evening.

    We wanted to do a 7-day trip to Zhangzhou, Yongding, Quanzhou and Xiamen. We enquired with Yaso who assigned a very responsive travel consultant, Emma who helped us craft our itinerary. We visited the Hakka T(ulou Earthen Buildings), and even stayed overnight in one of the hillside villages nearby. It truly helped us immerse in the culture and ambience of the area. We also visited the buzzing fishery ports and live seafood markets of Quanzhou and Xiamen, and tasted the very diversified, freshest and most delicious seafood of the two cities. We also visited unique seaside villages like Xunpu, architecturally and historically unique ancient villages like Wulin and Chongwu, not forgetting the beautiful island escape, Gulangyu. We were assigned a very friendly and knowledgeable guide Adam, who is sensitive to our needs and preferences and often go out of his way to create a truly wonderful experience throughout the trip, one that showed us the culture, history, daily lives and cuisine of the area beyond the surface. We were also given a clean and comfortable car to travel around, and Mr Chen, the driver is safe and reliable. Emma was also always on hand and responsive to address any little hiccups along the way, and make our trip safe comfortable, smooth and very enjoyable. A big thank you to Adam, Emma and Mr Chen. I highly recommend Yaso, and will certainly consider them for future travel in China.

    A mazing time in yunnan

    Just finished a six-day trip to Kunming, Jianshui and Yuanyang. Here are some things I want to share. The schedule was really well planned. We didn’t feel rushed or tired at all, and we had plenty of time to sightsee and relax every day. All the meals were halal, and we tried Jianshui grilled tofu, which was really unique and tasty. I usually get carsick before, but the vehicle was spacious and the driver’s skill was good, so I felt fine during the whole trip. Our tour guide was a wonderful, friendly and thoughtful guy, communication was not a problem at all. I’m so glad to have made a new friend in China. Haigeng Dam in Kunming has beautiful scenery, and we even got the chance to feed the migrating seagulls. What I recommend most is the Yuanyang Terraced Fields. It was such a huge surprise for me because I had never seen before! Besides the amazing natural scenery, you can also see the wisdom of the local people in how they make use of the land. If I ever get the chance to visit Yunnan again, definitely will choose here again.

Secondly, it is rational to choose high-speed rail as the mode of transport, as we can witness China's rapid development and significantly shorten the time we spend on the road, by the way, as a solo traveler, I could choose to stay in the quiet carriage, which provided me a comfortable place to rest. Then, the tour guide services are worthwhile, which could make our trip have more meaningful engagement, especially in Yunnan, not only the wonderful landscapes but also the ethnic and cultural diversity. What was most impressive about the trip was the Dali discovery. The Three Pagodas was marvelous, and walking along the Erhai Lake S bay could be one of the most leisure time in my life. Xizhou ancient town was also a great place, where we experienced a unique culture of the Bai minority. The tour guide recommended that we try the Bai three-course tea experience, which could be an unforgettable memory. I think it was an essential part to deeply understand the Bai minority’s culture. All in all, this trip was so great that I can’t wait to recommend it to my friends and invite them to have a meaningful trip with me in Yunnan.
