1 Day Shanghai Group Tour with Shanghai Old Town, Yu Garden, Zhujiajiao Water Town & The Bund

Meet your guide at the entrance of Renaissance Shanghai Yu Garden Hotel (上海豫园万丽酒店) at 9:30 AM. Travelers can conveniently arrive via Subway Line 10 or Line 14 to YuYuan Garden Station, Exit 3.

After meeting the group, begin exploring Shanghai Old Town (城隍庙历史文化风貌区), one of the oldest and most vibrant districts in Shanghai. Wander through lively streets lined with traditional buildings, souvenir shops, local snack vendors, and historic architecture that reflects old Shanghai culture.

Continue to the famous Yu Garden (豫园), a beautifully preserved classical Chinese garden originally built during the Ming Dynasty. Inside the garden, admire elegant pavilions, koi ponds, stone bridges, rockeries, and peaceful courtyards that showcase traditional Jiangnan garden design.

Later, enjoy a traditional tea experience at a local tea house inside the Yu Garden scenic area.

Midday: Transfer to Zhujiajiao Water Town

After visiting Yu Garden, board the sightseeing coach and travel approximately one hour to Zhujiajiao Water Town (朱家角古镇), one of the best-preserved ancient water towns near Shanghai.

Upon arrival, enjoy a light Shanghai-style lunch featuring local specialties and snacks.

Afternoon: Explore Zhujiajiao Water Town

After lunch, continue your exploration of Zhujiajiao, often called the “Venice of Shanghai” because of its charming canals, ancient stone bridges, and waterside houses.

Walk through narrow alleyways, cross historic bridges, and admire the peaceful canal scenery that contrasts beautifully with modern Shanghai. The town preserves centuries-old architecture, traditional residences, small temples, local markets, and riverside tea houses.

You will have free time to explore the town, take photos, purchase local souvenirs, or simply relax beside the canals while enjoying the slower pace of traditional Jiangnan life.

Evening: Bund Night View Experience

At around 4:00 PM, depart Zhujiajiao and return to downtown Shanghai.

Arrive at The Bund (外滩) around 5:30 PM, where your guide will introduce the famous waterfront area known as the “World Architecture Gallery.” Here you can admire the contrast between Shanghai’s historic colonial buildings and the futuristic skyline of Pudong across the Huangpu River.

The official tour ends at the Bund, allowing travelers to freely enjoy the spectacular evening lights, skyline photography, riverside walks, or nearby dining experiences at their own pace.
