What to Eat

• Weifang Ji-Ya Hele (鸡鸭和乐): The name "Hele" which is a kind of noodle, was developed from the word "Helou" that was a noodle name once used in history. It is cooked with various ingredients, stewed with chicken and duck soup.
• Rou Huo Shao(肉火烧) or Meat Pie: It is the most famous cuisine in Weifang. Weifang Meat Pie has a long history. People in ancient time lived in the North Sea (i.e. Weifang) to sell Weifang Meat pie for a living.
• Weifang Gangzitou (潍坊杠子头): It is a kind of wheat-based food which looks like a cake, with crispy skins and lovely mouthfeel. Also, it is very convenient to take away because it resembles bread after becoming cold. It is one of the most popular snacks in Weifang.
• Songma Cake (马宋饼): It is originated in Songma Village in Changle County, with a long history of beyond 200 years. The cake was identified as "Chinese famous snacks" and "Shandong famous snacks" by the China Cuisine Association and Trade Department of Shandong province in 1997.
• Linqu All-sheep Feast (临朐全羊宴): Linqu All-sheep Feast, which could be traced back to Qing Dynasty, is a famous and unique cuisine. It was Is developed on the basis of court all-sheep banquet.
• Chaotianguo (朝天锅): The dish stems from the morning market in Qing Dynasty, and it belongs to Lu cuisine. As time goes by, it is changed and enriched. Now there are more over 10 kinds of seasonings and ingredients. It also got the name of "Chinese famous snacks" and "Shandong famous snacks" in 1997.
• Shouguang Fried Chicken (寿光松鸡): The dish stems from Damatou Town at first, but later it was introduced to Shouguang and was modified by people there, which could be proved in the book Wang’s Genealogy. As a dish which could be traces back to Qing Dynasty and one of the Lu dishes, it has listed as intangible cultural heritage in Shandong province.
