  • Liaoning Festivals And Activities

Liaoning’s festival system is built on traditional Chinese celebrations, cultural tourism branding, ethnic diversity, and seasonal themes.

Traditional festivals such as Spring Festival, Lantern Festival, Qingming Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and Double Ninth Festival are widely celebrated, often combined with Northeast folk customs such as temple fairs, Yangge performances, and local markets, creating a strong festive atmosphere.

Cultural and tourism expos include the Shenyang International Tourism Festival, Dandong Yalu River International Tourism Festival, Dalian International Fashion Festival, and Benxi International Maple Leaf Festival, which combine tourism promotion, trade exhibitions, and cultural performances.

Ethnic minority festivals such as the Manchu Banjin Festival, Korean Seollal (New Year) and Chuseok, and Mongolian Naadam Festival are mainly held in autonomous regions, presenting authentic living heritage and intangible cultural traditions.

Seasonal themes define the rhythm of tourism: spring flower festivals (pear blossom, cherry blossom, azalea), summer coastal carnivals (beer festivals, sea fishing), autumn foliage festivals (maple leaf and red beach), and winter ice & snow celebrations, ensuring year-round tourism activity with no low season.
