    Spring(March-May)

    Warm and pleasant, spring is one of the most popular times to visit the ancient city-Suzhou. Flowers are in full bloom, festivals are in full swing and although it does rain, precipitation is not as prevalent as it is in the summer. While temperature swings are always a possibility, spring is generally quite temperate. Spring is the best time to visit Suzhou.

    What to Wear

    In spring, the temperature is not high. Therefore, tourists still need to dress warmly due to the low temperature in the morning and at night. Light clothes is very convenient. Tourists shall bring hoodie, leather jacket, wool sweater, thin sweater, sweatpants, cap. What's more, thin long dress and T-shirt are also advised.

    Summer(June-August)

    Summer is the hottest season with the most rainfall in June and the highest temperature of about 38°C in July and August. Suzhou in summer is also a beautiful place with green trees, picturesque reflections with the rivers and lakes, numerous flowers, especially the lotus flowers are super spectacular.

    Autumn in Suzhou is cool and pleasant. It is the best time to enjoy outdoor activities due to the good weather. The Tianping Mountain is one of the best locations in Suzhou for a spectacular golden autumn. Autumn is a great season to admire the elegant of Gusu ancient city.

    Autumn in Suzhou is the best season to visit. Usually, long sleeve blouses, long dresses, hoodies, jeans, and sneakers are suitable for going out on a sunny day. Tourists should also take an overcoat for the evening or when it rains.

    Winter in Suzhou is the coldest season. It may be snow on some days while most of the winter days in Suzhou are warmer, compared with places in north China. Suzhou in winter is of more antique beauty, and it is a good season to experience the tranquility of Suzhou.

    Avoid Public Holidays in Suzhou

    Try to avoid the public holidays of China, such as May Day Holiday(May 1-3), National Day Holiday(October 1-7), Spring Festival Holiday(Usually early February), Qingming Festival(in early April), Dragon Boat Festival(in June). Spring festival and national day festival are the most crowded time to travel. During these holidays, there will be a large crowd in the tourist attractions and you can't really enjoy yourself. Flights and hotels can cost three times as much than usual, and it's hard to get tickets during the Spring Festival.
