    Self-Driving Travel Guide in Changzhou

Changzhou has built an efficient elevated road system known as the “one ring and six radial routes” network. The total elevated road length is among the most developed among Chinese prefecture-level cities.

    Self-driving advantages include:

    • Easy connections between the city center, Xinbei District, Wujin District, Jintan District, and Liyang.
    • Most major areas can be reached within 30–40 minutes.
    • Parking fees are generally reasonable compared with larger cities in the Yangtze River Delta.

However, travelers should avoid rush hours, especially:

    • Morning peak: around 7:30–9:00
    • Evening peak: around 17:00–19:00

During holidays, parking near China Dinosaur Park, Tianmu Lake, and other popular attractions can become crowded. Taking the metro or tourist shuttle is often more efficient.

Changzhou’s public bicycle system provides convenient short-distance transportation, with many shared bicycle stations across urban areas.

    Motorcycle Travel Guide in Changzhou

Motorcycle travelers should pay attention to local traffic restrictions. Some central urban areas have motorcycle control zones, especially areas enclosed by major roads such as Zhongwu Avenue, Huanghe Road, Longjiang Road, and Qingyang Road.

The famous Liyang No.1 Highway is one of Jiangsu’s most beautiful riding routes.

    The route connects:

Tianmu Lake → Nanshan Bamboo Sea → Wawu Mountain

The road conditions are excellent, making it suitable for motorcycle touring, weekend rides, and photography trips.

    Practical Transportation Tips for Travelers

When arriving in Changzhou, choose the railway station according to your itinerary. Visitors focusing on historic attractions should generally choose Changzhou Railway Station, while those visiting northern attractions or traveling by high-speed rail may prefer Changzhou North Railway Station.

For city sightseeing, metro and shared bicycles are usually the fastest and most economical choices. Avoid unnecessary driving in busy downtown areas during holidays.

Before visiting major attractions, check official transportation updates and ticket information, especially for popular destinations such as China Dinosaur Park, Tianmu Lake, and seasonal events.

For long-distance scenic areas such as Liyang and Maoshan, self-driving provides the greatest flexibility, while tourist shuttle services are a convenient alternative for travelers without private vehicles.
