Xingyi Climate

Enjoying subtropical mountain monsoon climate, Xingyi has no intense heat in summer, no bitter cold in winter, abundant rainfall and long sunshine duration. In most area of Xingyi, the annual average temperature is 15℃-18℃, while average temperature in January is of 7.1℃ and average temperature in July of 22.2℃. With raining and hot during the same period, annual precipitation in Xingyi is 1300-1600 mm, and frost-free period is 275-334 days.

Weather Features

The influence of Kunming stationary front lasts for half a year, making the weather and climate of Xingyi different from that of other places in the province but similar to that of southeast Yunnan. However, due to the low latitude, lower altitude than Kunming and higher than Guiyang, the climate of Xingyi is unique and advantageous. The main characteristics of Xingyi climate are: "warm in winter and cool in summer, warm sunshine, fresh and moist air, comfortable and pleasant climate".

The biggest advantage of Xingyi climate is long comfortable period, which is suitable for living, preventing cold and escaping heat. According to the tourism meteorological comfort standard of Guizhou province, Xingyi is comfortable from mid-March to early November, lasting for 230 days. And the rest of the time is sub-comfortable, so Xingyi has the longest comfort period in the whole province and even the whole country.

Best Time to Visit

Xingyi has a pleasant climate, with the annual average temperature more than 10℃, but the best time to travel is February to April and July to August. From the late February to the early April, a wide range of rapeseed flowers in Xingyi are in bloom. Going to Xingyi in July and August, the waterfall will be more imposing, and summer rafting will be more interesting and more enjoyable.

Packing Tips

1. Generally, during the best travel time, you can wear T-shirt in the summer time, but coats are needed due to the large temperature difference between morning and evening in spring.

2. Remember to bring sun cream and necessary rain gears(A raincoat will be better, since it is more convenient).

3. If you want to go rafting, be sure to bring changes of clothes.

4. Many scenic spots in Xingyi have high mountains and precipitous paths, so you are supposed to wear sneakers or climbing shoes, which are convenient for walking.
