Fangchenggang (防城港) is located on the southwestern coast of Guangxi along the Beibu Gulf and borders Vietnam. As China’s only coastal border city with a major port, international border crossings and a unique marine ethnic culture, Fangchenggang combines four major tourism themes: coastal beaches, China–Vietnam border culture, Shiwandashan mountain ecology, and Jing ethnic heritage.
The city’s tourism resources are mainly distributed across three areas. The Jiangshan Peninsula area (江山半岛) in Gangkou District and Fangcheng District is the core coastal holiday zone, featuring famous beaches, marine landscapes and historical coastal sites. The Dongxing border area (东兴) focuses on China–Vietnam border culture, Jing ethnic villages and cross-border experiences. The Shiwandashan mountain area (十万大山) in Shangsi County offers rainforest ecology, hot springs, hiking and summer retreats.
Fangchenggang’s tourism identity can be summarized as “Sea, Border, Mountains and Ethnic Culture”. The city is especially suitable for self-driving tours, coastal vacations, photography trips, marine ecological study tours, ethnic culture exploration and China–Vietnam border experiences.
