World Natural Heritage & 5A Karst Core Scenic Area (Must-Visit Highlights)

Wulong Karst Scenic Area is part of the South China Karst World Natural Heritage Site and a national 5A tourism zone. It includes iconic geological formations concentrated in Xiannvshan Street (仙女山街道) and Jiangkou Town (江口镇), featuring canyons, caves, grasslands, and river systems in one integrated landscape.

Tian Sheng San Qiao (天生三桥, Three Natural Bridges)

Located in Xiannvshan Street (仙女山街道), this is one of Asia’s largest natural bridge formations, consisting of Tianlong Bridge, Qinglong Bridge, and Heilong Bridge. The site is known for its dramatic sinkhole system and was featured in Curse of the Golden Flower (满城尽带黄金甲). Visitors experience a 135.85m cliff elevator and panoramic canyon viewpoints with waterfalls and deep karst valleys. Shuttle transport is required, and the visit typically takes 2.5–3 hours.

Longshui Gorge Fissure (龙水峡地缝)

Located near Tian Sheng San Qiao in Xiannvshan Street (仙女山街道), this narrow karst canyon features vertical cliffs, underground rivers, and cascading waterfalls. The environment remains at a constant 16–18°C year-round, making it one of the most popular natural cooling destinations in summer. The walking path runs alongside streams and deep rock formations, offering a quiet canyon immersion experience.

Xiannvshan National Forest Park (仙女山国家森林公园)

Known as “Oriental Switzerland,” this vast alpine plateau covers grasslands and virgin fir forests. It includes over 100,000 acres of meadow and 330,000 acres of forest. Highlights include Xiannv Lake (仙女湖), scenic wave roads, camping areas, horseback riding routes, and hot-air balloon experiences in summer. In winter, the park transforms into a snow landscape with skiing facilities and frost scenery. A sightseeing forest railway also connects key grassland zones.

Furong Cave (芙蓉洞)

Located in Jiangkou Town (江口镇), Furong Cave is one of the world’s top limestone cave systems and part of the UNESCO karst heritage. The 2,700-meter underground cave features rare formations such as giant calcite waterfalls, coral stone pools, and crystal columns. It maintains a constant temperature of 16°C, making it suitable for year-round geological exploration and educational visits.

Furong River National Wetland Park (芙蓉江国家湿地公园)

Also located in Jiangkou Town (江口镇), this emerald-green canyon river system flows through karst peaks and dense vegetation. Visitors can enjoy boat cruising through canyon landscapes, summer rafting activities, and wetland ecological exploration within a protected natural environment.

Baima Mountain Tianchi Love Scenic Area (白马山天尺情缘景区)

Located in Baima Town (白马镇), this scenic area is famous for its “Flying Kiss” twin cliff observation platforms overlooking the Ujiang Grand Canyon. It includes vast Gongcha tea plantations, cloud sea sunrises, cliff glass walkways, sky swings, and boutique tea dining experiences. The area also integrates Baima Mountain battlefield heritage sites, adding historical depth to the natural scenery.

Yangjiao Ancient Town (羊角古镇)

Located along the Wujiang River, this ancient settlement preserves boatmen culture and river trade history. It is known for local specialties such as Yangjiao tofu, aged vinegar, and lamb hotpot. The town features cliffside streets, ancient salt road relics, riverside walkways, and ferry experiences, all freely accessible throughout the year.

Jingzhu Guituan Town (荆竹归原小镇)

Located in the Xiannvshan back mountain area, this UNESCO-recognized rural tourism village blends modern design with traditional farming culture. HaoKou Tianjia Village (浩口田家寨)

Houping Tianchi Miao Village (后坪天池苗寨)
