Fuyang (阜阳), located in the northwest of Anhui Province (安徽省) at the southern edge of the Huang-Huai-Hai Plain, is historically known as Yingzhou (颍州) and Ruyin (汝阴). As the central city of northern Anhui and the core area of Huai River culture, Fuyang is renowned as the "granary of Jianghuai (江淮粮仓)" and the "commercial capital of northern Anhui (皖北商都)." Covering an area of 10,118 square kilometers, Fuyang governs three urban districts, four counties, and one county-level city: Yingzhou District (颍州区), Yingdong District (颍东区), Yingquan District (颍泉区), Linquan County (临泉县), Taihe County (太和县), Funan County (阜南县), Yingshang County (颍上县), and Jieshou City (界首市).
