Chengdu Metro/Subway Guide

Chengdu Metro (成都地铁) is the first metro system in western China, officially opening its first line in 2010. As of May 2026, the network operates 15 metro lines, 1 tram line (Rong Line 2 / 蓉 2 号线), and 1 suburban railway (Ziyang Line / 资阳线). Covering over 700 kilometers with 444 stations and 65 transfer stations, it forms a “grid + loop + radial” network that connects the city center, suburbs, and Tianfu International Airport (天府国际机场). The metro links key business districts, trending tourist spots, and transportation hubs, offering convenience, punctuality, and extensive coverage for both locals and visitors.

• Standard operating hours: 06:00–23:00; Line 18 until 23:30, Line 7 inner loop until 23:59
• Rush hours: 07:30–09:00, 17:30–19:00; Line 2 (Chunxi Road), Line 7 (North Station), Line 1 (Tianfu Square) are busiest
• Overstaying ticket limit: any journey exceeding 120 minutes requires additional fare
