    Permanent Exhibition Halls

“Spring and Autumn of the Great Wilderness” — Ancient History of Zhuozi Region (Main Exhibition)

This exhibition presents the ancient history of the Zhuozi area, from Paleolithic stone tools and the Laohushan–Miaozi Valley Neolithic Culture (老虎山-庙子沟新石器文化) to nomadic remains from the Loufan, Xiongnu, and Xianbei periods.

The exhibition displays archaeological artifacts including stone tools, painted pottery, bronze objects, bronze mirrors, and Liao–Jin dynasty ceramics, showcasing the cultural exchanges and integration between agricultural and pastoral civilizations in this frontier region.

“Frontier Customs” — Modern Folk Culture Exhibition

This exhibition focuses on the social life and folk traditions of Zhuozi during the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China period.

Through old farming tools, household items, and folk cultural objects, visitors can experience the lifestyle changes brought by the migration movement of “Going West through the Pass (走西口)” and the construction of railways, recreating the historical appearance of old Zhuozishan towns.

“Mountains and Flames of War” — Revolutionary History Exhibition

This exhibition highlights the history of the Daqingshan Anti-Japanese Base Area (大青山抗日根据地).

Through historical photographs, old weapons, documents, and cultural relics, it records the local struggles during the Anti-Japanese War and the liberation period. The exhibition also serves as an important destination for red culture education and study tours.

Important distinction: Zhuozi County also has the Zhuozi Smoked Chicken Museum (卓资熏鸡博物馆), which is an independent food-themed museum. It should not be confused with the public Zhuozi County Museum. The two venues are not far apart and can be visited together.
