  • Nanhua Village in Kaili, Qiandongnan

    Nanhua Village in Kaili, Qiandongnan南花苗寨
    (贵州省黔东南州)

    Nanhua Village

Nanhua Village is southeast of Three Trees Town, about 15 kilometers from the city of Kaili, the capital of Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province. It is situated on the bank of the beautiful Bala River and faces the Lu (Rong) inter-provincial highway across the river.

Why is Nanhua Village So Special?

The village is well known for its beautiful natural scenery and interesting minority customs. Village houses are dotted around the mountain and the diaojiao buildings (wooden houses propped up by wooden supports with ladders leading up) are like tier upon tier of peaks, one rising higher than the other, surrounded by green forest. The village population is 100% Miao. Miao have their own beautiful songs, drum performances, and wedding ceremonies. All these have attracted both Chinese and foreign tourists.
