Anshan Iron and Steel Museum

The Anshan Iron and Steel Museum (鞍钢博物馆, Ansteel Group Museum) is a National First-Class Museum, a National 4A Scenic Spot, and a National Patriotic Education Demonstration Base. It is widely known as the “cradle of New China’s steel industry” and a symbolic landmark of the “steel capital spirit” of Anshan.

It stands as one of China’s most important industrial heritage and steel industry tourism destinations, preserving the history of modern Chinese metallurgy and the development of Ansteel (鞍钢集团, Ansteel Group).

The Anshan Iron and Steel Museum is located at No. 1 Huan’gang Road, Tiexi District, Anshan City, Liaoning Province, next to the west side of the main gate of Ansteel.

It was founded in July 2013 and officially opened on December 26, 2014. The entire complex covers 67,600㎡, including a 12,600㎡ exhibition building, a 55,000㎡ steel-themed park, and about 10,000㎡ of exhibition space.

The museum is built on a preserved 1953 sintering plant workshop, maintaining original red-brick industrial architecture and steel structures, combined with modern exhibition design, creating a strong industrial aesthetic atmosphere.

Innovation & Green Steel Halls (创新鞍钢 / 绿色鞍钢)

Focus on modern transformation, including VR steelmaking simulations, digital factory systems, and intelligent manufacturing technologies.

Model Workers Hall (英模鞍钢)

Presents national labor heroes such as Meng Tai (孟泰) and Wang Chonglun (王崇伦), featuring restored tools, life scenes, and spirit heritage of “Ansteel Spirit”.

Steel Theme Park (Free Access)

The outdoor area covers 55,000㎡, featuring large-scale industrial relics and sculptures.

Steel Avenue (钢铁大道) displays major industrial equipment such as rolling mills, steel ladles, and a Type-59 tank, forming one of the most iconic industrial photo spots in China.
